PROSPECTUS FOR ISC PLUS TWO COURSE

Indian School Certificate Plus Two Course is a two year post-secondary school study, through the medium of English, leading to an examination conducted by the COUNCILFOR ISC EXAMINATION, NEW DELHI. This course is recognized as the equivalent of the Two Year Pre-University or The Inter-mediate College Course.

The course is designed to enable students to study in India and abroad and also write various competitive examinations for admissions into professional courses like engineering, medicine, dentistry,chartered accountancy etc.

ADMISSION

Admission is open to girls who have been awarded pass Certificate in ICSE and CBSE. The provisional admission given to students of schools other than Sophia High School will not be confirmed until the Transfer Certificate from the school last attended is produced.

Candidates who have passed the Class X equivalent examinations from other recognized boards in India and abroad must pass in five written subjects including English (as compulsory subject) and four other subjects accepted by the Council in one and the same sitting. Provisional Admission will be granted to such candidates until the Council has communicated its approval through the Eligibility Certificate.

The syllabi in English and other elective subjects are prescribed separately for Class XI and Class XII. Evaluation of performance of students in Class XI examination is done internally by the school and that of Class XII by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination.

INSTRUCTIONS:

i) Duly filled in forms have to be returned along with copies of Standard IX, Standard X pre-board and Standard X final exam marks sheet attested by the school principal, on the day afterthe announcement of Board results, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the school office.
ii) Admissions are solely at the discretion of the Principal and School Management as there are limited seats. Recommendations of any kind are considered as a disqualification for admission. Forms that have been partially filled in or are incomplete will not be considered.
iii) Communication with regard to admissions that have been considered will be intimated by SMS within a day of submission of application forms.
iv) After you receive our SMS intimating your admission to Class XI, you will be required to bring the following original documents along with two sets of photocopies for verification:
a) Pan Card
b) Residential address proof
c) Two passport size photographs of parents
v) Notified amount will have to be deposited in the bank located in the school premises at the time of reporting for admission (Cheques will not be accepted).
vi) It is compulsory for both parents to accompany their ward to attend an interview with the Principal along with the original and photocopies of the certificatesand documents mentioned above.

Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances in case the student is withdrawn from the Plus Two Course.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

The PLUS TWO Course is under the school system and the daily school routine will be followed for all purposes. In matters of conduct, discipline, attendance, uniform, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, the PLUS TWO students must follow the norms and conditions as listed in the school diary.

The PLUS TWO students are expected to exercise leadership befitting their senior status and set good examples to younger students in all activities of the school, within the school premises and outside the school as well.
